Concerning Golden Monkeys

Golden monkey is the world’s most endangered spices as mentioned by International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) a very rare treasured tendered spices that can easily be identified by a golden-orange patch on its higher flanks and back.  
In the earlier period, the Golden monkey wasn't recognized as separate species, but rather well-thought-of as a subspecies of the Blue Monkey. Actually, these two kinds of monkeys are strongly related and very alike.

 The continuing divisions of forests have led to a breakup of their range this caused the golden monkey to live in lonely populations away from blue monkeys, and hence them adapting to the local atmosphere and hence diverging from the blue ones.

Everyday life of Golden monkeys
Golden monkeys are very much social/group kind of animals, they normally form groups of 30 - 80 individuals where every unit is subjugated by a single full-grown male. The Females are always with the group to protect and defend the territory, whereas males usually remain with the group for the time being,

Their sleeping sites are situated at the tops of bamboo plants. When sleeping, they gather into smaller groups of four (4) individuals on average.
Their Feeding areas are more often found in close propinquity to their sleeping locations, they, therefore, take everyday trips to hunt.

Primary forms of communication
Golden monkeys Primarily communicate using visual expressions and a variety of vocalizations. verbal communication is for males when shielding their territories while as Females vocalize to keep the unity of the group and alert community members in case of any threats.

Dietary
Golden Monkeys live in a harsh environment so they have adapted to a varied diet, ranging from tree leaves, pine and fir needles, bamboo shoots, buds, fruits, lichens, tree bark, insects, worms, small birds and their eggs
Their dietary patterns are fashioned by the existing seasons that is to say, in dry season fruits ripen implying that these primates shall entirely relish on fruits when rainy seasons set in motion they feed on young leaves and buds

Life expectancy of Golden monkeys
These primates are seasonal breeders their Gestation period lasts for about 5 months, yielding one infant. Females give birth every two years. the new baby comes with its total fur and open eyes. all through the first few months, the baby is nursed by its mother. By the end of this period, the female steadily minimizes the nursing and ultimately stops to produce a new young. After becoming sexually mature, the baby will leave its biological group. Golden Monkeys lifespan is 20 - 25 years

Challenges that Golden monkeys face
Golden Monkey as earlier mentioned, is an endangered species which faces a series of constant intimidations and threats effects including habitat disturbance, illegal destruction of their bamboo habitat, the biological helplessness, isolated populations. As is true for other forest-dwelling primates, Golden monkeys fall prey to leopards and other potential predators including snakes and birds of prey.


Where? If to see Golden Monkeys
Golden monkey only survives in the volcanic mountain at the border of Uganda, Rwanda and Democratic Republic of Congo in Four national parks namely - Mgahinga (south-west Uganda), Volcanoes (north-west Rwanda), Virunga and Kahuzi-Biéga (eastern Democratic Republic of Congo). Ideally Golden monkeys habitat in the highland forest with ample fruits and bamboo.

Rules and guidelines have been cautiously put in place to try to protect the mountain gorillas’ health and safety. Gorillas are extremely vulnerable to human illnesses and infection, and become strained if too many visitors arrive or advance too closely. Remember that they are wild individuals and very defensive of their young. To remain healthy and survive these apes need to be uninterrupted by visitors and accepted to eat rest and socialize with their own species.
